My Story.
Oh Danny Boyy...
My artwork is inspired by South Africa and England the two places I have been brought up and my paintings often reflect and combined aspect of both countries.
I was born in South Africa and lived on a sugarcane farm until I was 8 years old. I saw and experienced some amazing things often unfathomable by British people. From baboons on my driveway and backyard to snakes fighting in the morning before school I still have vivid memories of it all as it is so different to life in England.
I like to combine the English and South African memories in my paintings as this is often enjoyable and nostalgic for me to paint. And the whole reason I paint is because enjoy it! Then if someone likes it enough to buy one I get a real buzz and feel like I have shared my memories with the world.
